A  25-year old Akron man is charged with helping another man steal an M-16 rifle and a radar unit from the personal vehicle of an Akron Police officer last October.

Dhani M. Conrad of Hemlock Hills was arrested on charges of felony theft firearms and tampering with evidence.

Dhani admitted to an Akron Police officer that he and Marcus L. Reed stole the items and then threw them into the Cuyahoga River. 

Reed was arrested and charged in March.
