After being subdued by a customer, police have an Akron woman in custody after she allegedly attempted to rob a local eatery.

Shortly after 5:00 pm Tuesday,  police say a woman entered the Mr. Hero's on West Market Street with the intent to rob the restaurant and the customers inside.

Akron Police report the woman came in with her hand under her shirt and yelled, “This is a robbery, give me all of your money!”

She then pushed one of the people inside the restaurant as she approached the counter.

One of the customers then took matters into their own hands by tackling the woman and holding her until police arrived.

46-year old Crystal Tatum of Akron was arrested and charged with robbery. She is now in the Summit County Jail.
