Akron police are investigating another shooting in West Akron, just blocks from where a 17-year old was shot and killed in front of a convenience store.
Police were called near the intersection of Delia Avenue and Noble Avenue at around 4:30 Friday afternoon.
They say shots were fired from one car into another, and one of those cars - driven by 23 year-old Ian Hickman of East Avenue - then crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection of Noble Avenue and Copley Road. The other vehicle fled the scene.
Hickman was taken to Akron General Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The female driver of the pickup truck wasn't injured.
Police can only describe the second vehicle as a red car. The shooting is still under investigation, and anyone with further information is being asked to call Akron police.
