Canton-based Timken's 2nd quarter revenue fell nearly 55 percent over a year ago.
The company brought in 82.8 million dollars, down from more than 183 million during the 2nd quarter of 2012. Steel sales fell 29 percent, the biggest drop of any of the company's segments. A committee is still exploring the possibility of splitting off Timken's steel business.
The company revised its outlook for the rest of the year based on a slower economic recovery than they expected.
