No federal criminal charges will be filed related to the Aug. 2006 death of Mark McCullagh, Jr.at the Summit County Jail.
That statement coming from Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
Dettelbach says The United States Attorney’s Office, the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted a complete and thorough investigation of the events surrounding McCullaugh’s death. He says after what he calls an exhaustive and independent review of all of the facts, it was determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, a violation of any federal or criminal civil rights statutes.
Dettelbach says the matter is now closed.
