An Akron man is in hot water after pleading guilty to fraudulently claming veterans benefits.
Summit County Prosecutors announced 41- year-old Lloyd Monday, Jr pleaded guilty Wednesday to Attempted Tampering with Records and Falsification for altering his Armed Forces discharge papers, changing his discharge from Other than Honorable to Honorable.
He used his forged papers to apply for money from the Ohio Veteran’s Bonus Program. Judge Paul Gallagher sentenced Monday to two years of community control.

(November 2, 2011… Akron) … Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced today that Lloyd Monday, Jr., 41, of Orlando Avenue in Akron, pleaded guilty today to Attempted Tampering with Records, a fourth-degree felony, and Falsification, a fifth-degree felony.
Monday altered his Armed Forces discharge papers, changing his discharge from Other than Honorable to Honorable. He used his forged papers to apply for money from the Ohio Veteran’s Bonus Program.
The program provides funding to Ohio military personnel who served or are serving honorably during the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan or Iraq conflicts.
Judge Paul Gallagher sentenced Monday to two years of community control.
