A 32-year old man lands in the Summit County jail after allegedly trying to steal three cars and burglarize a home in Coventry Township over the weekend, while drunk.

The incidents began early Sunday morning when a Glenmount Avenue resident observed a man inside her car. The woman confronted the suspect who said he was trying to start the car.

The alleged suspect later identified as Christopher Sumey then confronted a neighbor in his home, after forcing his way inside. Sumey stepped on his foot and the victim subsequently fled the house.

Sumey followed and tried to enter a third victim’s vehicle, but was unsuccessful. Sumey was arrested by a Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy at South Plaza on Waterloo Road. He matched the description given by the victims and he appeared to be highly intoxicated.
