The 9th District Court of Appeals is siding with a woman who claims she was fired on the basis of racial and sexual discrimination and other factors. The decision was handed down this week from the appellate court.
Marisa Rivers says everything was fine at Cashland Financial Services, until an on-the-job injury later forced her to claims permanently, partially disabled and Rivers got fired from her managerial position. A county level judge granted summary judgment, but the appeals court now says the case needs to be tried.
Rivers was employed at the Cashland on State Road in Cuyahoga Falls at the time of her injury in 2007 and her termination in 2009.
