19-Year-Old Robbed At Gunpoint

A 19-year-old was robbed at gunpoint on the west side of Akron Friday night.

Police say two suspects approached the 19-year-old man while he was smoking a cigarette in the 400 block Rentschler Street around 11 p.m.

Police say one of the suspects asked the victim for a light for his cigarette, but as he tried to give the man a light, the other suspect pulled out his handgun.

The suspects got away with the victim's iPod, wallet and $20 in cash.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male, 24 – 26 years old, 5’07” – 5’08”, 165 lbs. and medium complexioned with a beard. He was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray or blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a balck male, 23 – 25 years old, 5’07” – 5’08” and around 135 – 145 lbs. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
