It appears the same bank robber that hit an Akron bank on Tuesday struck again last night.
Akron Police say the First Merit Bank on Wedgewood drive was robbed just before 5PM Wednesday. The suspect, now identified as 31-year-old Robert Campbell Jr. of Akron, went up to the teller and whispered,"Give me all of your money and no dye pack". He later took the cash and fled in a waiting car.
That's the same manner in which the Charter One Bank on Waterloo Road was robbed Tuesday morning.
Police are still looking for Campbell, who has several tattoos on his neck.
(police release)Shortly before 5:00 pm last evening, the First Merit Bank, located at 2430 Wedgewood Drive, was robbed. Bank employees reported the suspect entered the bank and approached the teller counter. The suspect told the teller, “Give me all of your money and no dye pack.” The teller handed the suspect an unreported amount of cash and the suspect fled to an awaiting car.
The suspect appears to be the same suspect involved in the Charter One Bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
The suspect has been identified and warrants signed on Robert E. Campbell Jr., 31, with a last known address of 1099 Reed Avenue. Campbell is 5’06”, 170 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information on Robert E. Campbell Jr.’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Akron Police Department, Detective Bureau at (330) 375-2490.
