Ohio State Highway Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash

The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-car crash just south of Navarre.

The accident occurred on SR 21 just south of Lawndell Road SW  around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning in Bethlehem Township.

21-year old Sapphira Ciriano of Newcomerstown was traveling northbound in her Buick Park Avenue when she went left of center and struck a southbound semi head-on. The trailer was carrying a load of gravel.

Ciriano was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 52-year old Carrollton man, was treated for minor injuries and later released.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
