An Akron man being sought for questioning in connection with the death of his girlfriend has been arrested far from Akron.
Akron police say authorities in New Mexico caught up with 52 year-old John Pritchard at around 11 PM Friday night, after an hours long search.
"After six hours of an intense manhunt between Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico", Akron police Lt. Rick Edwards tells AkronNewsNow.com, "deputy U.S. Marshals and New Mexico state police found and arrested Pritchard without incident just outside of Taos."
Pritchard's girlfriend, 52 year-old Robin Bailey, who lived with him on Patterson Avenue, was found dead inside the home on Tuesday evening.
Lt. Edwards says Pritchard was found operating Ms. Bailey's vehicle, a 2011 Toyota RAV4, and her dog also reported missing was in the vehicle "in good health".
Pritchard is being held in Taos City Jail on charges of receiving stolen property, related to the possession of Bailey's vehicle. He's awaiting extradition back to Akron, where he'll be questioned in connection with his girlfriend's murder.
