A mother has accused an Akron police officer of breaking her teenage daughter's arm during an incident in October at Jennings middle school.
NewsChannel 5 reports the incident was recorded on video by a security camera which shows Officer Jon Morgan trying to restrain 14-year-old Tamika Williams, forcing her against a locker and grabbing her left arm on October 26th.
Tamika's mother, Sandra Williams, claims excessive force was used and she believes the officer should be fired.
Akron Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7 President Paul Hlynsky says a fair investigation is needed and all sides of the story needs to be represented.
The student's attorney says it was Tamika's second day at the school on a disciplinary transfer. According to the officer's incident report, the incident happened after he witnessed Tamika cursing and pulling papers off the wall.
NewsChannel 5 could not confirm if the officer was removed from the middle school.
