Goodyear is moving its stock exchange listing from the new York Stock Exchange to NASDAQ.

The tire and rubber company says the move is effective December 18th, and will keep the same ticker symbol.

Officials say the move will "provide greater cost efficiencies".

NASDAQ has been known historically to be a tech stock trading market.

Other local companies on NASDAQ include Diebold, The Timken Company, FirstEnergy, and the JM Smucker Company.
