Akron Police making an arrest in a early morning robbery of two women.
Around 2:30 this morning, officers responded to a robbery in the 2100 block of East Market Street. The suspect, armed with a shotgun, ordered two women out of the house. He then threatened to shoot them before taking their cell phones. The suspect then ordered the women to get into a car.
Officers arrived on scene and ordered the suspect to drop the shotgun. He dropped the shotgun; however, he refused any other commands by the officers. After a brief struggle, the suspect was tased and taken into custody.
Charles Brown, 26, of Crestline Drive in Springfield Township, was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Having a Weapon while under Disability, Using a Weapon while Intoxicated, Aggravated Menacing, Disorderly by Intoxication and Resisting Arrest. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
The women are acquaintances of the suspect.
