UPDATE: Multiple Shots Fired In West Akron Featured

UPDATED 11:45 a.m. Wednesday: Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a daylight shooting at a gas station in West Akron Wednesday. The Summit County Medical Examiner positively identified Jaquare Jackson, 31, of Storer Avenue in Akron as the victim who was killed in what appears to be a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Copley Road and Edgewood Avenue.

Jackson and another man, Stephen Holman, 28, were shot from a passing grey SUV that reportedly had a decal with a pair of yellow lips on the back bumper; police say they also have a partial plate from eyewitnesses they are following up on.

Holman was also taken to the hospital but his injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

(Summit County Medical Examiner - news release) The victim that was shot on November 14, 2012, at approximately 2:50 pm, near the intersection of Copley Road and Edgewood Avenue in Akron has been positively identified as Jaquare Jackson, a 31 year-old male from Storer Avenue in Akron.

Akron police are looking into a double shooting on the city's west side Wednesday afternoon, with one death as a result.

Police say it happened near the intersection of Copley Road and Edgewood Avenue at shortly before 3 PM.

Shots were fired at the victims from an SUV.

A 31 year-old male was pronounced dead after being transported to Akron General Medical Center.

A 28 year-old male was transported to Akron City Hospital, and police say his injuries don't appear to be life threatening.

The victims' car ended up at the Circle K on South Maple Street near Cedar Street and Rhodes Avenue, and police closed parts of Cedar and nearby streets during the afternoon.

The suspect SUV is described as full-sized and charcoal gray with a bumper decal showing the image of yellow lips. Police say a partial license plate was also seen, containing the numbers "2129".

(ANN earlier coverage) An incident at a West Akron gas station resulted in multiple people getting shot.

News Channel 5 reports the incident occurred at the Circle K on South Maple Street just before 3 p.m. near Cedar Street and Rhodes Avenue.

Police say two passengers were driving on Copley Road near Edgewood Avenue when another car pulled up and opened fire at the men. The car driven by the victims rolled to a stop at the Circle K, more than a mile away from where the incident took place.

Both men were taken to hospitals in the city. No information is available regarding their names or their conditions.

Akron Police were asking motorists to avoid the intersection of Main and Cedar as a result of the shooting, but now say that was an incorrect location.

Maple Street between Edgewood and Cedar is closed until further notice.
