"Eeyore" "Eeyore" Portage Animal Protective League

A dog that normally weighs around 90 pounds was found with half his normal body weight in Portage County on Tuesday.

Officials with the Portage Animal Protective League responded to a call of a stray dog. Officials named the dog "Eeyore". He was eating mulch and rocks, and couldn't even stand he was so weak.

The dog is now in the care of veterinarians, and is receiving an IV and small sums of food. He has also had blood tests to rule out any other ailments.

There's no word yet on any charges related to animal cruelty. In a release, Executive Director Chalan Lowery says the dog has a long recovery ahead of him.
