At least 150,000 FirstEnergy customers are still without power this morning following the heavy winds that ripped through Northeast Ohio Tuesday from Hurricane Sandy.

The majority of the outages remain in Cuyahoga, Lake and Lorain counties. In Summit County, only about 330 customers are in the dark.

Across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland, there are still more than 1.4 million customers without power.

FirstEnergy officials released a statement Wednesday morning stating "periods of high winds, intense rains and heavy snowfall have impaired crew accessibility and hampered the damage assessment and restoration process."

On Tuesday, FirstEnergy spokesman Mark Durbin said it could take around 5 days to restore power to all customers affected by Hurricane Sandy.
