A 16-year-old Garrettsville boy was killed in a car crash Tuesday afternoon after losing control of his car in Nelson Township.

The Ravenna Post of the State Highway Patrol reports Nicholas D. Stock struck the front-end of another vehicle when he lost control while driving on the wet pavement on State Route 88 near Route 305 around 4 p.m.

Stock later died from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle only suffered minor injuries.

Troopers say Stock was wearing his seat belt and they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
