The Akron Fire Department is investigating a couple of weekend fires. Firefighters were called out just before 10:00 last night to a high rise near downtown. Flames were confined to a bedroom in a 10th floor apartment on Callis Drive.
And a house on Clemmer Avenue was fully involved when firefighters arrived Saturday night around 8pm. Two people were transported to the hospital injuries that were not disclosed. The fire apparently started toward the back of the house, but the cause and origin remain unknown.
