September was good month to look for a job in Akron and Summit County.
The state department of Job and family Services says the unemployment rate for the month in the county stood at 6.2%, a drop from the rate in August of 6.5. The rate leaves the county in the lower-half for Ohio's 88 counties in the rankings.
As for the city of Akron, the rate there fell as well, to 6.9%. The rate in August stood at 7.4. The agency also measures the rate in Cuyahoga Falls, which in September stood at an even 6%.
Tuesday's report is the last for individual cities and counties in Ohio before the November 6th election.
The state of Ohio's unemployment rate fell to an even 7% in September, down from 7.2% in August. The state jobless number had stayed even for several months before the most recent drop. Officials say with the state's rate, there are actually fewer workers in Ohio.
