The housing market is showing more signs of improvement in Ohio. September marked the 15th consecutive month in that home sales were up in Ohio, 5.6%. Sales are up 12% for the first nine months of the year compared to the same period in 2011.
The numbers in our region, which includes 17 counties that include Akron, Cleveland, Youngstown, New Philadelphia and East Liverpool, suggest similar activity with sales up more than 8% last month and about 16% for the year.
The average sales price in our region was just over $128,000 last month. That's up 2.8% compared to last September. Statewide, the average sales price is up 4.5% for the month and the year.
The Ohio Association of Realtors released the September data today.
