It's trick-or-treating taken to another level. The Akron Zoo's annual Boo at the Zoo kicks off this weekend with 12 themed trick-or-treating stations for the kids.

The zoo is adding an underwater reef station to help celebrate their new exhibit, Journey to the Reef and a new superhero station.

"All the animal are out," said Akron Zoo spokesman David Barnhardt. "The entire zoo is decked out in lights and decorations."

You may come across some creepy creatures at the zoo, but Barnhardt says visitors shouldn't expect a haunted house.

"We do keep it very safe and non-scary. This is not a haunted house by any means. Kids of any ages can come and they will not be scared," said Barnhardt.

Boo at the Zoo kicks off this Saturday, Oct. 13 and will run Oct. 13-14, 19-21, and 26-28. Hours are 5:30 – 8 p.m. on Fridays and 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
