A police chase ended with a collision in Canton Saturday night, sending seven people to the hospital.

The Canton Post of the State Highway Patrol reports the collision happened when a police cruiser was chasing a vehicle for a traffic violation  at 17th Street and Clarendon Avenue shortly before 7 p.m..

The cruiser did not make a complete stop at the intersection which caused it to collide with a minivan that was driving through the intersection. The minivan was not involved in the police chase.

The two officers in the police cruiser along with the two adults and three children in the minivan were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The officer who was driving the police cruiser was cited for failure to yield.
