Akron police have two suspects in custody after two separate shootings in Akron.
A 29-year-old Akron woman was arrested after firing her gun during an argument with a neighbor Thursday evening.
Akron police say the bullet struck the victim's apartment in the 800 block of Barbara Avenue at the same time her two children were inside the building around 6 p.m.
Officers arrested Tara R. Walker of Akron and charged her with four counts of felonious assault, improper discharging of a firearm and tampering with evidence. Walker was book into the Summit County Jail.
Shortly after midnight, an Akron resident curious about the noises he heard outside of his house was surprised to find a man rummaging through his truck in the 1200 block of Kansas Avenue.
Police say the suspect, Ryan Strausser, 20, of Akron, fired a shot at the victim's direction before fleeing.
Officers caught up with Strausser a short time later on East Avenue. He is now facing a list of charges including aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and tampering with evidence. Officers also recovered a .32 caliber revolver behind a business where the suspect was apprehended.
No injuries were reported.
