Police: Akron Bank Robber Caught Speeding

Troopers arrested a man wanted in connection with an Akron robbery after he was caught speeding in Erie County.

26-year-old William Hawes was arrested by troopers with the State Highway Patrol late Thursday morning during a traffic stop for speeding and expired license plates.

Hawes is suspected of robbing the First Merit Bank on Brittain Road Wednesday.
