Criminal charges have been filed against a woman who allegedly caused a fatal crash by driving the wrong way on I-76 last month.

Police say 61-year-old Phyllis Treich of Tallmadge had a blood-alcohol level of .162 the night of the crash, more than twice the legal limit.

Back on September 6th, Treich was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes on 76 near Brittain Road, when her vehicle struck another driven by 57-Karon Briggs of Akron. The impact caused Briggs's car to spin and get hit by another.

Briggs was taken to the hospital immediately after the incident, but died a short time later.

Treich is charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, an OVI, and Traveling the Wrong Way on the expressway.
