It's two days before the first Presidential Debate, and Akronites do have some issues they'd like to see President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney talk about.

AkronNewsNow talked to some potential voters in West Akron, and caught up with people like civil engineer Leroy Wertz. For him, it's all about responsibility.

"I'm hoping for somebody to bring the character out of Americans," Wertz says, "and make them responsible for what they do."

But jobs and the economy were brought up frequently by those in our random sampling in West Akron. Tammy Vendeland has a job, and but her boyfriend finally got one after a long wait.

"I am working, I am working," Vendeland tells AkronNewsNow.com, "but my boyfriend just started working two months ago after being laid off for two years."

Insurance salesman John Fowler wants to hear about economic issues and health care.

"Probably the biggest thing is economy, jobs, what's he doing, kind of find out more what he's going," Fowler says, noting that he wants to hear more from President Obama on those topics...but more from Mitt Romney on an issue where there's no question about the president's stance. "I know Obama's stand on healthcare, I'm not too familiar with Romney's plan on heathcare. So, I'd like to maybe hear more about Romney's plan on that."

Joe Payton is a physician...who was open about where he stood, and who doesn't have his support in the race.

"We need to put an end to our 16 trillion dollar debt," Payton says, "and we need to get the economy going again, and I think anybody but Obama can do it."

And many just want the campaign season to end.

All three debates, two involving the presidential candidates and one with the vice presidential candidates, will be carried live on 1590 WAKR, and will also be live streamed on WAKR.net.
