Troopers are investigating a hit-skip crash in Jackson Township that sent a 17-year-old girl to the hospital Wednesday night.

The Canton Post of the State Highway Patrol reports the driver of a grey car failed to stop at a stop sign at Mt. Pleasant Road and struck the 17-year-old girl who was driving on High Mill Avenue. The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m.

The teen was taken to Akron General Hospital and released with minor injuries.

Troopers say the driver who struck the teen fled on foot following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
