Fires Damage Two Akron Homes

Akron firefighters were busy battling two house fires Tuesday. Shortly after 11;30 Tuesday night a vacant house in the 13-hundred block of Sunrise Drive went up in flames. The loss was estimated at $20,000. No one was injured. Arson investigators were on the scene trying to determine how the fire began.

There were no injuries.

On Tuesday afternoon firefighters were called to a home in the 11-hundred block of Packard Avenue for a house fire. Food left unattended on a stove is blamed for the fire which damaged the kitchen and the second floor of the home. The loss set at $22,000.

There were no injuries reported.
