Vandalism forced officials to close the restrooms at Streetsboro City Park.

Mayor Glenn M. Broska posted on the city's Facebook Tuesday that numerous reports of vandalism have cost the city thousands of dollar in repairs.

He hopes the vandalism will stop so that the city's funding can be used to improve the parks instead of repairing them.

A $500 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the vandalism.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Streetsboro Police Department.

City Of Streetsboro Facebook Post

"It is very painful to have to write a post like this but it must be done. Due to an exorbitant amount of vandalism and wanton destruction, we are being forced to close the rest rooms at City Park. For the life of me, I cannot understand why people would just want to destroy what we have. We have spent and will spend thousands of dollars to repair what these malcontents have destroyed. This is thousands of dollars that we could have used to improve the parks and added features but instead we have to use it to repair what some juvenile delinquents have destroyed. That being said, we are offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the vandalism. If you have any information, please contact Officer Jason Fogelman at 330-626-4976. Now is not the time to protect the people that perpetrate these senseless crimes. They are needlessly destroying the park. They are taking away our funding that could be used to make our city better. If you have any information, please share it with us. Let’s get this vandalism stopped so that we can use our funds to improve our parks instead of repairing them. Thank you, Glenn M. Broska"
