A Canton man has been indicted on charges of allegedly robbing six banks in the Akron-Canton area.

A grand jury in Cleveland returned an indictment charging 33-year old Benjamin G. Gates, with six counts of bank robbery, according to Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for
the Northern District of Ohio.

Gates faces charges for the July 2nd robbery of two U.S. Bank branches in  Cuyahoga Falls and one in Canton and two Huntington Banks in North Canton, and Canton, as well as a third in Liberty, Ohio.

Bank security photos and the public finally led police to Gates.
