Akron Police are investigating two separate robberies that occurred Thursday afternoon and this morning.
Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred around 3 this morning in the 800 block of East Wilbeth Road. The victims were pulling into a parking lot behind their apartment building when they were confronted by two men. The suspects pointed handguns at them and demanded their property. The victims gave the suspects about $360 in cash, a cell phone, cigarettes, and identification cards. The suspects fled through back yards to a waiting car driven by a woman .
Detectives are following up on several possible suspects.
Around 4:00 Thursday afternoon, a 14 year old boy was beaten and robbed while mowing grass at the corner of Carey Avenue and 25th Street SW. The victim reported he was approached by two men. One punched the victim in the face while the other took $5 in cash. The suspects fled. The victim suffered minor injuries to his face.
The suspects are two white males, 14 – 16 years old. The first suspect is 5’06” – 5’08”, 130 – 140 lbs with red or auburn hair, wearing blue jeans and no shirt. The second suspect is 5’05”, 120 lbs., with brown hair.
Detectives are following up on possible suspects.
