A former Green Middle School drama instructor has pleaded guilty to charges of sexual misconduct with a teen girl.
News Channel 5 reports 27-year old Jason Mazan entered the plea August 15 according to court records. He pleaded guilty to sexual battery, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and falsification. Mazan was initially charged with importuning in April.
The charges are in connection with an incident April 7 in which Mazan was allegedly caught in a car with a 14-year old girl behind a business on Massillon Road around 1:30 a.m. Both were partially clothed.
Green Superintendent Michael Nutter told the TV station the district fired Mazan after being hired under contract in December as a part-time drama support coach.
Mazan will undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation before his scheduled sentencing October 17 at 10 a.m.
