Akron Police Arrest Shooting Suspect

Akron Police have arrested a suspect in a Thursday midnight shooting.           

Around 10 Friday night, after several tips from residents, officers from the Akron Police Department and members of the U.S. Marshals Office Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Matthew Defonta Bank, 23, of Ira Avenue in Akron for Felonious Assault. Banks was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Summit County Jail.

Banks was wanted for the shooting of William Javier Loskofsky, 33, of Eastholm Avenue in Akron. The shooting occurred in the 300 block of East Voris Street. Banks allegedly shot Loskofsky following an argument.

Loskofsky is still in the hospital in serious condition.
