Akron Man Guilty of Rape

The man who assaulted a church volunteer in May has been found guilty of Rape and Kidnapping.

David M. Anderson, 25, of Oberlin Street in Akron stalked a women on May 15th driving his car by the victim multiple times before pulling into a parking lot and offering the women a ride. She was on her way to church and accepted the offer.

Anderson assaulted the victim in his car, then pulled behind an abandoned house hidden from view. He continued the assault threatening to shoot her saying he had a gun. Anderson then raped the women.

A neighbor heard screams coming from the area around the abandoned house and called the police and as they arrived on scene the women was able to leave the vehicle.

Anderson claims to have known the victim and denys anything happened in the car.

Police say Anderson's DNA was found on the women's t-shit, sweatshirt and sweat pants and when asked Anderson did not know the victims name.

He'll be sentenced Tuesday of next week.
