Authorities are investigating the death of a 37-year-old Canton man who was shot in Akron Tuesday night.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office reports Kevin Collier was shot by an unknown person while standing near the doorway of a home in the 1100 block of Brandon Avenue around 10 p.m.
Collier was taken to Akron City Hospital where he later died early Wednesday morning shortly before 1 a.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
The Akron Police Department and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
