Catholic Charities Director Steps Down Catholic Charities Community Services

Summit County Catholic Charities is looking for a new head honcho. Deacon John Green announced by e-mail today he was stepping down from the position effective this Friday. He says he realized the role was "not the best fit" for him at this time. The Cleveland Catholic Diocese will make the appointment for a new executive director, Green wrote, after a search process that will be announced.

(John Green - email release) I wanted to let you know that I have resigned from my position as Director of Catholic Charities Community Services of Summit County, effective Friday August 24th.

I have appreciated the opportunity to work with this agency over the last year. I greatly admire the work we do in the Summit County community and the contribution we make to the lives of many. I have been impressed with the commitment and talents of our staff and Advisory Council. The work of Catholic Charities Community Services of Summit County has my complete support and I will continue to be an advocate for this agency in whatever way I can.

There are several things that influenced my decision but the deciding factor was the realization that this role was not the best fit for me at this time in my life.

The Executive Director of Catholic Charities Community Services, Bernadette Washington, will shortly be starting a search for a new Director. Interested applicants can apply for the position at the Catholic Charities employment website http://www.clevelandcatholiccharities.org/employment.htm once the position is listed. I encourage you to let qualified candidates know of this opening.

Sincerely yours,

Deacon John Green, Director, Catholic Charities Community Services / Summit County
