A Tallmadge standoff ends peacefully after  a man barricaded himself inside his home for nearly four hours.

Officers were called around 11 p.m.on a report of shots fired inside of a home in the 1100 block of Woods Drive.

Officers found a spent shell casing on the patio of the home and a female and two teenagers came outside.

Larry G. Beall Jr., who lives in the residence, refused to come out and showed officers a gun.

Authorities say Beall told officers that he wanted to die.

The Summit County Sheriff’s SWAT team was called in and began negotiating with the Beall, who eventually surrendered at 2:50 a.m.

No additional shots were fired and no injuries were reported. Beall is currently in a local hospital.

Once released, Beall  will face charges of disrupting public service and using weapons while intoxicated among other charges.
