It has been described as home to generations of students and now memories are up for auction Saturday, Sept. 24 at Kleckner Elementary School in Green.

The school decided to closed its doors earlier this year due to costly repairs.

Auctioneer Bob Young says its an interesting experience to be auctioning the same school he attended as a child.

"It's kind of cool for me to think that I walked around here as a student and i'm going to walk around here and sell the desk I used to sit at," says Young.

Young says the auction will include everything from heavy equipment to school bells.

The city auction will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the auction inside Kleckner.

Those who attend early can preview the items inside the building before bidding.
