Police: Meth Lab, Child Found Inside Springfield Twp. Home

Two people are in custody after police found an active meth lab and a 6-year-old child inside a Springfield Township home over the weekend.

Officers were called to investigate a suspected meth lab inside a home in the 1800 block of Oakes Drive. Police said they could smell the chemicals coming from inside the residence.

Police charged Tony D. Macchiarole, 33, of Akron and Kelly M. Bolyard, 23, of Springfield Township with assembly to manufacture drugs. Bolyard, the mother of the 6-year-old child, was also charged with felony child endangering. Macchiarole and Bolyard were booked into the Summit County Jail.

Police said the child is safe and in the care of family members.
