After receiving an anonymous tip, State Highway Patrol troopers have recovered the vehicle they say may have been involved in the hit-and run death of a Springfield teenager.

Troopers are now testing the vehicle to see if it was involved in the crash after a tip was given to the department last week.

16-year old Anthony Weakland was struck and killed while walking with a friend on Albrecht Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night. He was walking near his family's home when he was hit from behind by a passing vehicle.

Authorities have not determined the identity of the driver said to have been in the crash.

State Troopers are still seeking tips on the incident and anyone with information is asked to call the State Highway Patrol's Canton post.
