An Akron police K9 officer is wearing something that's not just fashionable.

Akron Police K9 officer "Mylo" is now sporting a vest....not just any vest, but a canine ballistic vest.

The protective vest costs $800, and the department says that money came in a donation from the Rubber City Kennel Club.

Mylo is pictured here with his human partner, Officer Patrick Armsted.

They work together on the day shift on patrol.
