News release - Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA)
An Air Quality Advisory for fine particles and ozone has been issued for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit Counties.
The advisory will be effective from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. Air quality levels will be 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' during this period.
If you are in the 'Sensitive Groups' category of children, the elderly and those with breathing difficulties, please monitor your outdoor activity and check live map of air quality readings.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible on Wednesday, July 4, 2012.
If you are in sensitive groups, drink plenty of water & stay out of the sun. The weather conditions favor the accumulation of air pollutants resulting in both ozone and fine particulate pollution in the atmosphere. Please limit your outdoor activities if you are in sensitive groups.
