An Akron man got out of his home, after it caught fire last night on Preston Avenue.

The Akron Fire Department tells AkronNewsNow that it started at just after 11:30 on Tuesday night.

NewsChannel 5 reports that the fire started on the second floor of the home, in a bedroom.

Neighbors say flames were shooting out of a second floor window when firefighters got to the home.

The fire department has no reports of injuries.

It's not believed that weather caused the fire, which is still under investigation.
