Police arrested a 31-year-old Barberton man after they say he tried to hurt a passenger and children in his car by crashing into a Jackson Township house Friday night.

The Canton Repository reports James M. Allen admitted to police he had smoked marijuana and crystal meth before driving into the home and a parked car in the 9400 block of Portage Street.

The woman in the car was taken to Mercy Hospital with a broken arm. The children were also taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.

Allen was charged with felonious assault, child endangering, DUI and driving under suspended license.
