More Hoover Company jobs are leaving Canton.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that a plant that makes bags for Hoover commercial vacuum cleaners will close at the end of the year, with production moving to China. 17 jobs will be lost at the TTI Floor Care North America plant. Some of the displaced employees will have bumping rights, and could move into other jobs at Hoover, according to an offical of Local 1985 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Hoover in a news release said only that it was dscontinuing it's Elite line of vacuum cleaners, and that market demand for the bags had declined significantly, given the surge in sales of bagless vacuums over the past 10 years.
