The other shoe has dropped for five Canton firefighters under investigation for their parts in trading shifts.
The five were identified as paramedic/firefighters Rosario Carcione; Andrew Bolgiano; William Hallas; Kevin Gordon and Timothy Givens. All had grievance hearings last week.
Today, Canton Public Safety Thomas Ream dismissed all five from the safety force. A news release from the City noted he would have no further comment.

Five Canton city firefighters have been suspended for alleged shift trading. Suspensions range from 60 days to a couple of weeks.
Canton Fire Chief John Whitlatch said the alleged shift trades happened between October and December of 2011.
The announcement of the suspension comes a little more than two months after an audit of the Cleveland Division of Fire revealed widespread abuse of sick time and shift trades. That audit suggested as many as 200 firefighters may have abused the system for years.
