Two Canton teenagers are now being called heroes for helping two people escape from a burning home.
News Channel 5 reports the rescue happened Wednesday morning when the two were waiting for the bus.
13-year old Tyler Creswell said his sister told him about the fire while he was with his good friend David Beckley at the gym of the Early College Academy.
They then tried to call 911 to get an address for the house where the blaze occurred.
Beckley and Creswell made their way over to the home on Clarendon Avenue SW to help the couple as they raced to the back door. After several tries they kicked in the door and found three people inside the home, including the couple that lived there and a neighbor.
They weren't the only ones that contributed though as as a man went and knocked on the front door and got in the house and helped the people get out the back door.
Once everyone was out of the house, one of the people tried to go back in to get their wallet. One of the teens told the elderly woman that you only have one life, and that you can replace your wallet and what's inside it.
There is no cause for the fire and it remains under investigation.
