A 13-year-old Medina student is among 50 spellers who will advance to the semifinals at the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

This will be Sunny Levine's third appearance at the National Spelling Bee.

The 8th grader at Clagget Middle School made it to the fourth round of the semifinals last year and was ousted with the word "litholtrity."

Four other Ohio students also advanced to the semifinals including Vishnu Nistala, 12, of Mentor. He's an 8th grader at Mentor Shore Middle School.
